As enterprises continue to promote the desgin and construction of smart factories, their digital delivery modeling requires more detailed model in Intergraph Smart 3D. This requrement includes Water Supply and Drainage(abb. WSD) domain, which underground pipe network contains rainwater, sewage, circulating water, domestic water, etc. It should be perfected into the 3D model as well. However, there are three points that result in low design efficiency.One is that Smart 3D original symbol library does not contain the data symbols of various wells (inspection wells, water-sealed wells, etc.) for the underground pipe network. Another one is that WSD designers design underground pipe network in 3th part 2D software due to their professional characteristics and traditional experience. Last one is that the 3th part software does not transmit data to Smart 3D well. So after the design, it takes a lot of manpower and time to compolete the model in Smart 3D manually.

In order to solve these problems, developers considered WSD design experience and developed automatic modeling tool based on Smart 3D. this tool can create the underground pipe network model automatically according to the Excel design data that exporting from 3th part software. The Excel design data contains the information of the wells, piping specification, elevation, pipe slope and other essential parameters. After loading these design data into tools, it can create piping route automatically including pipe, wells and other piping parts. At last accroding to customizied ISO package and report template of underground pipe network, it can generate ISO drawings and comprehensive material report.

The interface of this software is simple, easy to operate, and can be customized and modified according to the needs of the project. Compared with manually drawn models, the modeling efficiency is increased by 94%, and it fully meets the requirement of digital delivery work.
